Maine – Earth Day Everyday – Have you spotted one?
A new classic from a favorite Maine author and artist…
Charming story to catch up with this weekend – Robert McCloskey’s “Lentil”
A sculpture of Lentil and his dog, Harmony, by Nancy Shon, is located in a park in Hamilton, Ohio. Robert McCloskey was “from” Ohio and New England. Although Lentil’s dog did not have a name in the story, the dog was named Harmony in a contest. Sculptor Shon also did the version of Mrs Mallard and her ducklings that is in Boston’s Public Gardens.
Here is a springtime favorite!
In publication ever since 1940!
Do you have any favorite children’s books?
Think of one you enjoyed as a child or a new one that you discovered with a child.
Some favorites here include Time of Wonder by Robert McCloskey, as well as the delightful books by Dahlov Ipcar. It has been fun sharing her re-issued classics with children today. They so much remain relevant!
How many classics do you remember those from your own childhood?
